Every year we make New Year’s resolutions, and so often find ways to break them (sigh).
But what if our resolutions were more gentle and easier to follow?
Scott Albrecht, an artist/designer currently based in Brooklyn, NY, has an easy way to stay in the right frame of mind. He created a wonderful collection of postcards: Live the Life You Love Postcard Box which features 25 witty and inspirational hand-drawn aphorisms (reproduced 4 times each), and is housed in a keepsake, letter-pressed box.
His words can inspire you simply by pinning them on a cork board, or framing them and putting them on a wall, or if your resolution this year is to inspire someone else, you can mail these 100 cards to friends and family who may need a little pick-me-up this year.
Now, on to the giveaway! We wanted to start 2013 off in an extra special way and thanks to Scott, we have a fabulous set of prizes for you! We have an 18” x 24” “Perfect In Our Imperfections” signed print from the artist, a tote bag that has “Let’s Make Stuff” printed on it, and of course, a Live the Life You Love Postcard Box to go along with it.
Just leave a comment below with your (gentle!) new year’s resolution this year, and you’ll be entered to win!

Eat more salad! And learn Chinese
My resolution is to learn a bit more about skills and things i never knew how to do before.
My new year’s resolution is to stop finishing my kid’s leftovers.
I am going to try not to let people or events get to me. I know I can control my own reactions if I make the effort.
“Letting go of what I am, so I can become what I might be.”
Would love to win the print or totebag.
My New Years resolution is to grow my biz even more In The new year.
I don’t usually make resolutions. However, having gone through some major life changes at the end of last year, I am declaring 2013 to be all about Gwen. (not in a selfish way, just a stop putting everyone else first and focus on what I need/want/dream about sort of way)
What an interesting idea! My gentle resolution this year is to pay better attention to my posture. We celebrate the small victories around here.
My New Year Resolution is to LAUGH MORE and worry less
I resolve to do more of what I love this year. This will involve being more focused and pushing away what is meaningless, time consuming and distracting.
Yes, I’m walking away from my computer now…
This is indeed a lovely concept. 2013 is a year I want to spend treading even more gently on our fragile planet. That means finding even more projects that recycle the old to create new beauty.
Put my passion for creating my crafts to good use and starting a career in selling them to help raise the money I need to get a charitable foundation I have been creating in honor of my childhood friend who I lost to suicide when we were younger, up and running within the next couple years.
