A Thanksgiving Memory from Knitting Superstar Wendy Johnson
We at CrafterNews know we have a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.
Among many, many things, we’re extremely blessed to have the opportunity to work with such fantastic authors, and we love being able to share their talent and their voices with all of you. We’re also extremely thankful for our faithful CrafterNews followers–we can’t do what we do without you.
In the spirit of the holiday, we decided to ask some of our authors to share their Thanksgiving memories. We’ll be sharing a few of these stories with you. Today’s Thanksgiving memory comes from Wendy Johnson, a force in the knitting community with her website Wendy Knits, and her bestselling books, Wendy Knits Lace, Toe-Up Socks for Every Body, and Socks from the Toe Up, to name a few.
“I did not have many traditional Thanksgivings as a child. My dad was in the military, so most of my childhood was spent in Europe. When we lived in London, the U.S. military arranged for inexpensive charter flights so we always went on a trip over Thanksgiving break. My favorite memory was of a traditional turkey dinner at the American Embassy in Paris, followed by a visit to the Louvre with my dad.”
