Look What WE Made: Knitted Baby Blanket

Babies have a funny way of sneaking up on us, even though we have nine months warning!

Like many of us, you may find yourself scrambling to create a handmade gift for a newborn in your life. But CrafterNews contributor Vicki Tomao came up with a solution that cuts crafting time in half while also bringing people together – make it a family affair!

Below is a blanket that Vicki and her family knitted for her old roommate Aileen, a new mom.

“I, of course, had the belated idea [to make a blanket] when she was eight months into her pregnancy,” Vicki said. “But with some hustle from my sister, cousin, and mostly my grandmother, we were able to pull it off!”

We love the way Vicki’s blanket turned out! In fact, we love it so much that we might have to adopt the idea for some future office babies. . .

Isn’t it great that baby blankets no longer have to be pale pastel blue, pink, yellow, but can be vibrant and colorful.
