Ulrika Reinholdsson August 12th, 2010

I’m planning sweaters and vests for my son and daughter, my to-do-list is more than full!

Nancy Sapir August 12th, 2010

Most often I make sweaters as gifts because the cost is affordable and the product is better than anything I could find in the stores. My skills are basic, but I make the most of them by choosing patterns that I know I can handle.

Nancy Sapir August 12th, 2010

Most often I make sweaters for gifts because the cost is affordable, and the result is better than anything I could get in a store. My skills are basic, but I make the most of them by choosing patterns that I feel confident I can do.

Jessica August 12th, 2010

Socks

Dorothy Evanson August 12th, 2010

Robin August 12th, 2010

I will be knitting sweaters for my brother’s kids in NY. They need sweaters for the cold, and my sister in law is so HAPPY to get stuff made by “Aunt Robin”, that I truly love to do the work, and look to design new stuff each time.

Olive August 12th, 2010

This winter, cowls are on the menu for family and friends. Cowls are quick to make, warm and stylish.
Just fabulous for using up the stash or indulging oneself with an irrisistable, luxury yarn without breaking the bank.

Vickey Bricklef August 12th, 2010

I’d love to win the book as I really want to try to learn to do cables and would love an inspirational book. My local library doesn’t have any good books on doung cables and I can’t afford to buy one.
On my family knitting, which I have started, are several lace and non lace shawls, lots of socks, mittens, scarfs, and self designed cute monster toys for my large group of grandkids (10) so far. I’m also hoping to do a cable sweater for my oldest son who in 4XX so the book would really come in handy. Thanks.

D) My husband asked for a cricket vest, so I’m working up a design for him.

Kathy Getto August 12th, 2010

I will be working on knitting and crocheting holiday gifts for my 4 sisters and my daughter. I plan on starting simple with scarves that are easy and basic because I’m just starting and still learning. That, I think is what makes it so exciting!!! While I’m just starting to knit and crochet again (I’ve done both when I was much younger) I am also learning to spinner by hand and wheel, so I can do it all start to finish. The only thing left would be raising the sheep!!??

Grace August 12th, 2010

few shawls. Lots to do and I love knitting cable
patterns.

His younger brother will get one this year since he will be starting kindergarden and needs his own special one. I will be knitting mittens for my niece since she prefers them and won’t knit them herself. My best friend will get socks since she hasn’t had time to knit any for herself this year. And maybe some colorwork mittens. But after those are done, it will be the winter of mittens since I have plenty of yarn and patterns for mittens I have been wanting to try.

Kathy Sell August 12th, 2010

I will be making scarves.

Susan (sjanova) August 12th, 2010

I probably will be making a scarf/cowl for my sister. I found a small ball (0.8 oz — less than an ounce) of a mohair I used to make her a dress/jumper (sleeveless, v-neck) when she was 4 years old. It’s too scratchy for against her skin and she doesn’t wear decorative scarves. (A skinny fancy scarf would be perfect, sigh.) So either the ends of a scarf or, as my mother just suggested, a pillow cover will remind her of this dress I made almost 50 years ago.

Charlotte Woodward August 12th, 2010

I’ll be knitting hats for my 6 grand-daughters!

Liz August 12th, 2010

None of the above – I’m knitting silly toys, knitted balloon animals.

I am planning two pair of socks and have two afghans going as well. I have been busy this year with “handmade” Christmas as our theme for this economically challenged year. I’ve started knitting holiday ornaments–every year I make a different one, this year oragami birds that are felted, and finishing up a sweater for my new niece-in-law.

Sharon August 15th, 2010

B) Hats
Hats can be knit up quickly, with a great deal of variety. I’ve only knit the simplest of cables. Turns out they aren’t as difficult as I though. I want more cable patterns now.

definitely hats!

Connie Steen August 15th, 2010

I plan to make a hat and sweater for my 14-month-old granddaughter and a sweater for my 3½-year-old great nephew. Once those are done, I’ll be knitting socks for myself.

Suz August 16th, 2010

I’m looking forward to crisp, cooler weather to inspire me to get started on hats and sweaters for family and friends with new babies.

Fiadhnat McGrath August 16th, 2010

Socks, socks and more socks. Maybe a hat or two and the odd scarf also.

RUTH August 16th, 2010

Sherri S. August 16th, 2010

A sweater (for me!)–only the third one I’ve attempted–and hats for everyone else!

47ronin August 16th, 2010

I’m planning to make scarves for my co-workers this year. We’re nurses and work in a very stressful environment. Making gifts for each other is part of our team-building effort to show how much we need and appreciate each other.

I’d better get started now! Best wishes to all my fellow knitters.

Mary Ann Westfield August 17th, 2010

I will likely make hats.

Carla August 17th, 2010

already working on two scarves, and have plans for two hats and a pair of socks!

Daphne August 17th, 2010

I’ll be finishing a bunch of projects: socks for gifts, sweater for me, socks are always on the needles, and more sweaters in the works!

Judith Holm August 17th, 2010

I will be making scarves and hats for everyone on my list.

Dana Wright August 17th, 2010

I think I will be making scarves this year. I am expanding my knitting and crocheting knowledge and want to give my family something nice.

Sara August 18th, 2010

I plan on making hats first, then scarves. These are for gifts. I am starting now !

Aubrey August 18th, 2010

Karen M August 21st, 2010

I am planning to make scarfs as gifts this year.

Nancy August 22nd, 2010

Will be making sweaters but have found some beautiful wraps to do also. Scarves are always good to make in a pinch for unexpected gift giving.

Allen August 23rd, 2010

Most definitely sweaters!! The more complex the pattern is, the more likely I am to make it.

Allen August 23rd, 2010

Definitely sweaters!! The more complex the pattern is, the more likely I will be knitting it!

Raquel August 24th, 2010

I started knitting this year so I am keeping it simple. I will be making hats and scarves for my two nieces and nephew.

Raquel August 24th, 2010

I will be keeping it simple because I started knitting this year. First scarves for mytwo nieces and one nephew. If I have time, I will make matching hats.

Bonnuie Murray August 26th, 2010

Sweaters! Fastest way to clean up my stash of yarn!

Tricia August 27th, 2010

Everything except sweaters (the others are faster and smaller so I can make more gifts)!

Tricia August 27th, 2010

hats scarves and socks (sweaters take too much time, I’d rather make more gifts than just one).

april September 3rd, 2010

I plan to make HATS!! The scarf basket is overflowing, but I know I will sneak a few new scarves in this year, lol

Peggy Rauhut September 4th, 2010

I really should improve my sock skills.

Thanks for the giveaway!

suse September 15th, 2010

difficult to answer: I´m planning a big Aran-Coat for my daughter (sweaters?) and I´m already working on a blanket for my son (ß), both very cabled!

Liisa September 18th, 2010

I plan on kknitting scarves and fingerless gloves

Jenne September 20th, 2010

Hi – I’m really into making vests this fall. In addition to the hats, scarves and socks. Would LOVE to have the book!

Anna September 20th, 2010

After 40 years of knitting for market, charity and family members, this year I will knit a cowl just for me. Some hand spun soft wool with alpaca, in a light natural grey, varigated , so warm, I could be happy all day!

Sandy Neville September 20th, 2010

Hat, Hats and more Hats with wristlets or mittens to match

Meg September 25th, 2010

Scarves are tried and true, so I will knit some as gifts; but socks now come in so many exciting varieties and represent the new hand-knit luxury, so I’m going to try to knit some as gifts (for people for whom I’ve already knit scarves!).

Carol Brown September 26th, 2010

Hats, more specifically, slouchy hats with matching fingerless gloves, scarves, many lacy, beautiful scarves and one sweater…okay, it’s an Ipod sweater but still a sweater! ;)

Trisha Presnell October 10th, 2010

Hats and scarves are my go to projects. I want to try socks, but they scare me a little… My roommate wants a sweater, but if socks are scary…. a sweater is way beyond, but I might have to breakdown and try…

Jenna October 10th, 2010

I will be making lace scarfs for the gals and illusion scarves for the guys :)

Marla Benabdallah October 14th, 2010
